Scripture Memorization – Part 2 – Prepare

Prepare yourself to commune with God through feasting on His Word.

1.  Believe you can do it.

You are smarter than you think you are.

Most people only use a fraction of their brain power. Many are amazed at a supercomputer that can do millions of calculations a second, but do you realize that the human brain is more powerful that all the supercomputers on the planet put together? Not just some scholar’s brain – yours!

Think about it – with all the technology we have, why hasn’t anyone built a robot that can walk, talk, and feel exactly like a human? Because the number of thoughts, calculations, and movements required to operate the human body is far more than any computer is able to do. Your brain makes your lungs inhale, your heart beat, your eyes blink, and thousands of other operations all at the same time you are keeping one eye on the kids, picking up the living room, talking on the phone, and running through the rest of your task list in your head. Right?

You are smarter than you think you are.

2.  Pray

Ask God for his supernatural empowerment based on the authority of Deut 11.

Remember, believe, and proclaim out loud the fact that God’s Holy Spirit will help you. Jesus told us: But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you. John 14:26

Proclaim as Paul did, I can do all things through him who strengthens me. Phil 4:13

Thank God for his constant presence and provision. Marvel at the fact that Almighty God desperately wants you to know him intimately.
