Does God Have Your Ear?
Before you answer, think about the question in two ways:
1. Are you listening?
Do you regularly set aside time to shut off the phones/computers/tv and all the distractions of this world to just sit with your Bible and hear from God?
2. Have you completely given yourself to God?
In Old Testament times, if an Israelite had a servant, he was to set that person free after six years of service. However, the servant could refuse the opportunity to go his own way.
But if your servant says to you, “I do not want to leave you,” because he loves you and your family and is well off with you, 17 then take an awl and push it through his ear lobe into the door, and he will become your servant for life. Deuteronomy 15.16-17
God has plans for each of us that are better than we can ask or imagine. It is easy to get distracted by all the chaos in this world and go off on our own path. Let us today remove the bluetooth from our ear and put our lobe up against the post of the Narrow Gate. He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life.
