One week done already! What did you think? Have you heard from God? I heard a few important items from Him just yesterday while finishing the homework. I was having a Romans 7 kind of day. You know, when you do what you don’t want to do and don’t do what you want to do? Yeah, like that. So thankful for the reminder that “sin’s existence in us is powerful and profound,” but God’s grace is so much bigger than our sin.
Ready to move on, dear ones?
Step 1 – Prayer: Let us begin this week’s study going humbly before God:
Gracious Lord, you are compassionate and faithful. Thank you for reaching down to us and reminding us that you purposely chose us before the foundation of the world. Thank you for straightening out the kinks in our theology by opening our eyes and hearts to who you really are. You gently reveal our insecurities, fear and shame to us in order to cleanse us and set us free. Some of us have lived with these issues for so long that they become normal. Even dysfunction can become comfortable if that’s all you’ve ever known, but that is not who you created us to be. Thank you for transforming our minds with the truth of your Holy Word. Father, thank You for loving us so much. In the precious name of Jesus, amen.
Step 3 – Discussion Comments:
Then, answer one or both of these questions either here or on the facebook group page.
- Question 1 – God’s Presence: Tammie wrote about our “Sheilas” distracting us from God, His truth, and our identities in Christ on pages 21-23. On pages 24-25, she noted the importance of how we see God. Do you see God as He is described in Ps 145? Do you live like you believe it by resting in Him?
- Question 2 – Pitfall 3 – Our Fear: Review the great question on page 28: What are you most afraid of lately? Have you handed your fears over to the Lord? If not, what is stopping you? Let’s do that together today.
Step 4: Homework through this week: Do week 2 (pages 36-59) in your DoD book by next Tuesday. Since the section is not sub-divided into individual day assignments, I suggest pacing yourself at about 4-5 pages a day.
Feel free to comment throughout the week on what God is doing through this study! Evie, are you with us? 🙂
If you are joining us for this study and have not already introduced yourself here on this blog or on the fb group, please do so now. If you do not want to say much, at least leave your name (or even secret code name) so we know you are here and can be praying for you.
Excited to hear more of what God is doing in your lives. Talk to you soon, Siestas!
